Micro Size Self - Gripping Brass Cable Gripper For 3 / 64″ & 1 / 16″ Cable
A Gripper is a sophisticated piece of hardware that allows an electrician
to adjust the height of a fixture without utilizing tools. As a cable slides through
the gripper a plunger and three balls within the gripper surround the outside
diameter and catch the cable as it passes through the gripper. When mounted
and weight is applied to the gripper, the tension forces the balls to grab the cable
in a pinching movement.
We offers several grippers in different diameters and screw sizes,
Which can be used in many mounting applications including but not limited to
j-box, drop ceiling, masonry and unistrut projects.
This cable gripper is made from nickel/Chrome plated copper(brass) and best
suited to indoor applications with small diameter wires 1.2~1.5mm.

| 7. How It Works | 1. Cable Grippers are sophisticated in design but simple to use: 2. The 3--ball gripping mechanism is spring-loaded and allows the gripper to move freely up the cable. It cannot move down unless the plunger is depressed. 3. While there is any weight at all on the gripper, the plunger cannot be depressed.An optional “safety nut” or “safety cap” can be added to completely lock the mechanism in both directions. The greater the weight, the stronger it grips. |
Cable Gripper Design
Within each cable gripper is a plunger that a cable slides through.
There are three balls that surround the outside diameter of the cable
as it passes through the gripper. When weight is applied to the gripper
when mounted, the tension forces the balls to grab the cable in a pinching movement.
In normal operation the more the tension, the more the gripping. Some grippers come with
a safety nut that locks the movement in both directions eliminating the potential for a release
if the plunger is accidentally depressed by an end user.
